Now this Culligan US-600A under sink system is the inexpensive and compact solution for your needs. Regardless of its low price and the possibilities it has, this filter will cover the basic expectation for pure and tasty water. So if you are tired of changing filters and need something simple at a budget price, this might be the product for you.
Manufactured in the USA, this under sink water filtration system is tested and certified by the NSF standards for water treatment systems organization. It covers the NSF/ANSI standard 42 and reduces the aesthetic chlorine, bad taste, and odor. It comes fully assembled for installation and is really easy to handle.
Performance
This filter is designed for cold water only. And it will serve you best with the already treated municipal water. It could be used with well water too, but depending on its contamination you might want to install a reverse osmosis system.
Being a basic filtration system, the USA-600A is the perfect solution for chlorine, bad taste, and odor. It will improve the quality of your water significantly right off the bat. A good thing is that the filter housing is compatible with replacement cartridges, D-10A, D-20A, D-30A and D-40A in case you decide to upgrade later.
The lifespan of the filter is 1000 gallons or 1 year – pretty convenient for its characteristics.
The pressure range is 30 – 125 PSI although you should never push it to the limits. Recommended temperature – 40F to 100F.
Features
The set includes a filter housing with a built-in mounting bracket in the cap assembly. The mounting screws are also included. It also comes with 4 feet length of 3/8 inches plastic tubing and 2 quick connect elbows. Plus an SW-5A housing wrench and the D-20A chlorine filter.
Installation and maintenance
You won’t need to get an additional faucet for this unit. The fact that one is missing from the set speaks for itself. You will notice that the set is already assembled and all you have to do is have it attached and connected. All you need is a clamp so that you can plug this thing into your cold water line.
If you want to add a separate faucet, though, you will probably need a brass tee that fits your current piping. Make sure the side takeoff of the tee is 3/8″ which you’ll use to run to the filter and then up to the faucet.
