Overview
This product is one that will serve you very well and will pay off its price in no time. It will provide you with high-quality water, despite the low price. This means that in comparison with most of the other RO systems on the market, this one gives you great value for your money. It has few features and advantages that make it preferable over other more expensive products.
Amongst them are the quality of the parts and the bonus set of filters you will receive for free. You might have a few small notes, but these are not the ones that should make you give up on this product. Especially if you are looking for an efficient solution for a budget-saving price.
Performance
This RO system will do its job well. It will remove 1000+ pollutants and up to 99% of contaminants such as heavy metals, bad mineral substances, cloudiness, chlorine, odor, taste, etc. This sort of effectiveness makes the system great for well water filtration. Though it might need up to 24 hours to work with its full capabilities, it will reduce the PPM significantly.
You can buy a TDS Meter if you want to check for yourself. It will not filter lake water, though. In lake water, there are substances that this system will not get rid of. If that’s the case with you, look for a UV system that will take care of the task.
The system works well with the standard water pressure which is between 40 and 80 PSI. Keep in mind that if your water pressure is lower you might need a pump. And if it is normal, but falls below or goes over those numbers, you will have to check your water pressure.
You can expect production of up to 50 gallons per day. The tank will produce 2.5 gallons before its empty and will need 4 to 5 hours to recover.
Features
As said before, the system comes with an additional set of 4 filters and fittings. The set itself contains the system plus 2 sediment filters (1st stage), 2 GAC coconut shell filters – (2nd stage) and 2 CTO block carbon filters (also coconut shell) for the 3rd stage.
There’s also the RO membrane, made in the USA (4th stage), and 2 inline filters (5th stage). Of course, you get valves, colored tubes, housing wrenches, 1/2″ drain saddle, and a modern lead-free faucet.
Installation and Maintenance
Now the installation will be easy and will not take more than an hour for those who have done this before. If you haven’t though, you might want to ask for some professional help. In general, you will have installation instructions included, but there are diagrams and for some people, this is a bit tricky.
Watch out for the measures before you start the installation. The T-valve on the cold water supply is 1/2″ and if you need a 3/8″ one you will have to order it yourself. Otherwise, you will need an adapter. The best you can do is prepare yourself and check the existing plumbing before you begin the installation.
Maintenance is nothing to concern yourself with as of now because you have the additional set of filters. Depending on the usage, you will need to change them once every 6 to 12 months.
